Meet Louise

Louise began working in the specialty area of hand physiotherapy in 2006 and it quickly became her passion. In 2013 Louise completed USA-based specialisation exams in hand therapy to become the first Certified Hand Therapist in Canberra.

In 2010 Louise established a hand physiotherapy service at SportsCare, originally at Garran in partnership with the University of Canberra physiotherapy student-led clinic. A few years later the clinic relocated to Barton and now employs a large team of specialized hand therapists.

Louise cares deeply about furthering awareness and the value of hand therapy in the Canberra community and surrounding areas through ongoing education.  She is involved with the local hand therapy special interest group, presents a sports course run through the Australian Physiotherapy Association, and offers GP training workshops. Louise also works hard to create a workplace that stimulates staff learning and provides ongoing opportunities for professional development.
